TUESAP 2020 Meeting

The 8th Texas Universities’ Educational Statistics and Psychometrics (TUESAP VIII) meeting will be held at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX on Friday, March 27, 2020. We would like to invite you, your colleagues and students to join us for the meeting with scholars from different Texas universities. This year we are very fortunate to have both AIR and STATA kindly sponsoring our meeting that allows us to provide some traveling supports to graduate students who are the lead presenters.

We are also very honored to have Dr. George Marcoulides from University of California, Santa Barbara to provide the keynote address for our meeting.

Tentative Agenda:

  • Informal breakfast
  • Dr. Marcoulides’ keynote address
  • Break
  • First paper session
  • Lunch
  • Graduate student roundtables session
  • Second paper session

For the graduate student research roundtables session, research can be in any state of completion from design through completion. The purpose of this session is for quantitative methods graduate students to have some practice presenting their methodological research ideas in a supportive environment where experts can provide constructive feedback. Paper sessions should preferably entail completed methodological research. For all sessions, we allow research papers that will be presented at other conferences like the upcoming AERA/NCME conference. This helps presenters by providing them with feedback for upcoming, more formal conferences.

We would like to invite you and your colleagues and students to consider presenting your research at the meeting.

If you are interested in presenting your work, please email:

  1. Title (temporary one will be fine) and author information of your presentation
  2. Preferred presentation format (oral/poster/roundtable)

to Ms. Katie Fletcher (kfletcher@tamu.edu) by Friday, February 28, 2020.

In addition, do feel free to attend the meeting even if you aren’t presenting and please encourage your colleagues and grad students to attend. (“Attendance is free but the learning is priceless” Beretvas, 2015). So please also email Katie (kfletcher@tamu.edu) to let her know who will be attending so we are sure to have enough snacks and lunches for everyone. And do please let her know again by February 28th.

Thank you very much for your attention and we hope that you and your colleagues and students can join us on March 27th for the TUESAP VIII meeting!
